A Few Foods That May Assist With Cancer Prevention

Some foods you will want to be sure are included in your diet are cruciferous vegetables, garlic, raspberries and tomatoes.

Cruciferous vegetables include foods such as kale, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy and cabbage.  These foods have been shown to be effective at lowering the risk of prostate, colon, bladder, lung, and breast cancers.  In addition to lowering cancer risks, consuming these vegetables may also aid with Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes.

Tomatoes are an excellent source of lycopene.  Lycopene may suppress the growth of tumors and may protect cells from damage.  Cooked tomatoes have a higher concentration of lycopene then raw tomatoes.  Lycopene is a fatsoluble nutrient to you want to eat it with olive oil or some other good fat.  Other soources of cooked tomatoes include pasta sauce, ketchup and tomato juice.   Lycopene may help prevent several types of cancers such as breast, prostate, lung, stomach and pancreatic cancers.

Raspberries have cancer preventing properties and may assist in causing cancer cells to die.  They are an antioxidant.  Raspberries may halt the growth of tumors and may assist the liver with removing cancer causing substances from the body.

Garlic is known to support good health.  It may aid with stopping some cancer causing substances and may help with DNA repair.  Garlic may reduce the risk for stomach, breast, pancreas and colon cancers.  It is most helpful when eaten in fresh form from cloves which have been either crushed or chopped.
