Almonds are high in calories, but in moderation they can help you to lose weight.

Almonds which are whole are good for snacking in limited amounts.  Slices and slivered almonds work well when added to vegetables, salads, yogurt, and other recipes.  Keep in mind each teaspoon of sliced or slivered almonds contains approximately 35 calories.

Almonds are high in protein.  Having more protein and healthy fat in your diet and less refined carbohydrates helps with weight loss.
