Ground Turkey

Ground Turkey Casserole

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 8 oz. container sour cream
  • 1 5 oz. can tomato sauce
  • ½ teas. sugar
  • 1 12 oz. package egg noodles

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Brown the ground turkey for 5-10 minutes, or until browned, in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain the turkey and stir in the sugar and tomato sauce and set aside. In a mixing bowl combine the sour cream and cream cheese, mix well and set aside. Layer the cooked egg noodles in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Layer the turkey mixture over the noodles and then layer the sour cream mixture over the turkey. Sprinkle the Cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole. Bake in preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Ground Turkey Tacos

  • 1 ½ lbs. ground turkey
  • 12 flour tortillas
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. water
  • 1 4 oz. can diced green chili peppers, drained
  • ½ medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1.25 oz package taco seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ¾ cup diced tomatoes
  • Salsa, optional
  • Sour cream, optional

Cook the turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-8 minutes. Drain the turkey. Add the tomato sauce, water, green chili peppers, onion, garlic and taco seasoning. Reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 30 minutes. Stir this mixture occasionally. Spoon the turkey mixture over the tortillas and top with the lettuce, Cheddar cheese, and tomatoes, salsa and sour cream.

Ground Turkey Meatballs

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • ¼ cup finely chopped parsley
  • ½ teas. oregano
  • 1 beaten egg
  • ½ cup dry breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients, mix well, and shape into meatballs. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Cook the meatballs in the skillet until they are cooked through and browned on the outside. Cooking time will vary depending on the size you make your meatballs.

Ground Turkey Meatloaf

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • ½ cup quick cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ½ green pepper, diced
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup ketchup

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 12×8 inch baking dish or a meatloaf pan with cooking spray. Mix the turkey, oats, onion, green pepper, mustard, egg and ¼ cup of the ketchup together. Shape into a loaf and place in the prepared baking pan. Spread the remaining ¼ cup catsup over the top of the meatloaf. Bake in reheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
