There is nothing you can do to turn back the clock and subtract actual years from your age.  However, there are some things you can do to help slow down the aging process and look more youthful.

Many people spent millions of dollars searching for that magic remedy that will return a more youthful appearance.  Some folks even resort to surgery to try and regain a younger appearance.  There are some steps you can take that are not invasive or expensive, but will help you age gracefully and naturally.

It is important to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.  For this reason it is imperative that you wear sun block when you go out in the sun.  If you wear makeup you can purchase sun blocks which are formulated so you can apply makeup over them.

In order to keep your skin hydrated you want to use a good moisture daily.    A good moisturizer helps replenish the skin cells and helps create soft skin and reduce wrinkles.  It does not have to be extremely expensive to be a good moisturizer.  There are some excellent products on the market at reasonable prices.

You can help keep your skin healthy and youthful by eating a healthy diet.  This means a diet low in calories and fat and filled with nutrients and antioxidants.  Foods such as dark green leafy vegetables are great.  These types of foods will help build your immune system and will help with your graceful aging.  Reduce the amount of sugar and fats in your diet.  Avoid sugar and cream in your coffee or tea and avoid drinking sodas or at least reduce the amounts you consume.

Additionally, you want to drink lots of water.  When your body is dehydrated it makes your skin look much older.  Drinking eight glasses of water daily is recommended so try to drink at least this amount.

Include exercise in your routine regularly to improve your general health, including the health of your skin.  To increase flexibility and joint pliability engage in some yoga or Pilates exercises.  These exercises will also help keep your body in shape.

If you have stress in your life you want to try and become more relaxed.  Some practices which help relieve stress include yoga and meditation.  Reducing stress will decrease your risk of heart disease and other medical conditions.

Another good exercise to add to your regime is walking.  It is good to walk at least four days per week for 30 minutes each time.  Be sure to wear good shoes that will give your feet and body the support it needs.

Your body needs the right amount of vitamins and minerals to stay healthy and to maintain healthy, youthful skin.  If you are not getting all the nutrition you need from your food, consider adding a multi-vitamin supplement.

Visit your medical professional on a regular basis for checkups for your blood sugar, cholesterol levels and blood pressure levels.  Being mindful of these things can help avoid possible medical conditions.  Be sure to follow the advice of your health care professional if any adjustment or treatment is needed to bring your readings to the proper levels.
