Instant Pot

Are you someone who would like to put a delicious healthy meal on the table in a short time?  Would you like to prepare an inexpensive roast, and have it taste tender with lots of flavor?  If you answered yes to these questions, then an instant pot might be just the product you need.

The instant pot is the new pressure cooker and multi-purpose appliance.  It is not like the pressure cooker your mother used years ago. This new pressure comes with built-in safety features that you cannot override.  You will not need to worry about exploding food landing on your ceiling. Instant pot is just one brand of the new electric pressure cookers available on the market.  There are several other good electric pressure cooker brands available.

The new instant pot (and other new pressure cookers) is electric, unlike the stovetop pressure cooker of years past.  You simple plug it in, hit the button and the instant pot does its work.

To make the most of your instant pot, and to use it safely, you will need to take the time to read the instructions thoroughly and you will need to follow these instructions.  There is also an Instant Pot website if you need additional help getting familiar with your new instant pot.

There are various makers of the electric pressure cooker and the appliances come with different features.  Be sure to check the model you are considering purchasing for the functions it performs.  Some electric pressures will also function as a slow cooker, rice cooker, soup maker, and yogurt maker.  Some models allow you to sauté food.

The electric pressure cookers come in various sizes. The sizes are measured in quarts and they are 5 quarts, 6 quarts and 8 quarts.  Unlike the slow cooker which needs to be at least ½ full to cook properly, the instant pot will handle anything from a single serving to a meal for the family.  You need to have at least 1 cup of water in the instant pot when you cook.

With the instant pot you can cook a dozen hard boiled eggs in 4 or 5 minutes.  Frozen shrimp cooks in 2-4 minutes, steel cut oats in approximately 3 minutes, chicken breasts 6-8 minutes and a large potato cooks in approximately 15 minutes.  Large chunks of meat can cook fork tender in about 90 minutes.

When using the instant pot you don’t need to use a lot of butter or oil.  You can steam vegetables so they retain their nutritional value and fresh taste.

Cooking in the instant pot is done in an inner pot which is removable, dishwasher safe, and lightweight so cleanup is easy.

Thousands of cooks have fallen in love with their instant pot (or other electric pressure cooker).  They have replaced some of the other appliances in their kitchen with this multi-functional item.  You can find lots of posts online from instant pot users praising the product and sharing their recipes.

If you are looking for a way to prepare healthy, delicious food in a speedy easy manner, then the new instant pot (or one of the other electric pressure cooker brands) may be just what you need for your home kitchen.
