Where Are You Going?

Do you have an idea of where you are going?  I don’t mean today or tomorrow or next week.  I’m asking where you want to go with your life.

If you don’t know what you want in your life perhaps keeping a daily journal will help you get a feel for what you want to accomplish.

What skills do you have.  What do you enjoy.  Do you need some training in order to move ahead.  Is there an opportunity at work to develop more skills.

If you have no idea where you would like to be in 10 or 20 years think short term.  What can you accomplish this year.

When you aim big you likely will accomplish some of your goals.  You may not reach the top, but you may go a long way toward that goal.

It’s important to work hard and stay focused on your goal.  Your goal may be your career or it may be a desire to lose weight or build your body or strengthen your family ties.  Whatever your goal is you need to work toward it each day.  The longest journey is accomplished one step at a time.

It’s easy to tell yourself that you are working toward a goal.  But, if you are just drifting along and doing the minimum at your job you cannot expect to move ahead.

If you are sitting on the couch or at the computer eating junk food you surely are not going to lose weight.  To obtain a buff body you need to exercise and eat right.  Dreaming won’t make it happen.  Ignoring your family and making unreasonable demands will not improve family relations.

To reach any goal whatever it is, you need to honestly work toward that goal and not delude yourself.  Anything worth  having takes concentration and effort to accomplish.

You can take small steps toward improvement keeping your ultimate goal in mind.  It will help to regularly review your plans to make sure you are on track and make any adjustments necessary to reach your goal.

If you need help to achieve your goal find someone who can assist you.  Perhaps you need a mentor.

Hard work and good planning can take you a long way.  It is never too late to start the road to accomplishing what you truly desire.
